On January 8, 2011, Congresswoman Gabriell Giffords (D-AZ), a member of her staff, and several of her constituents were shot by Jared Lee Loughner in a store parking lot in Tucson, Arizona. In the wake of the shooting, both sides of the political spectrum called for a stop to "vitriolic rhetoric" that was being blamed for the shooting, with most of the blame being laid by Democrats on Republicans (namely Sarah Palin).

Now, over six months after the incident, it seems the shoe is on other foot. In the past several weeks, we've seen the Congressional Black Caucus on the attack, with hateful speeches made by Maxine Waters and Andre Carson. Just yesterday, Teamsters President Jim Hoffa rallied the crowd in Detroit by saying "Let's take these son of a bitches out" in reference to the Tea Party. Both the White House and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (DNC Chair) have declined to comment on Hoffa's statement.

Today it was reported that a new online game will grant Hoffa's wish.

The game, developed by StarvingEyes (whose clients include NASCAR, Pepsi/Mountain Dew, and several companies in the entertainment industry) allows players to use a variety of weapons such as Uzis and crowbars to physically annihilate zombie versions of Newt Gingrich, Bill O'Reilly, the Koch brothers, and Sarah Palin.

Screenshots, anyone?

What do you know, the stereotypical image of a Tea Partier -- a KKK member.

Yet another stereotype -- the overall-wearing, trailor trash redneck, complete with rebel flag and Obama/Joker poster.

Zombie Sarah Palin (Hope they got the rights to use this image)

Yes, you too can bash the brains of Newt and Bill in the post-apocalyptic Fox News studio.

As one person commented (via NRO), it would be deemed racist and sexist if this were done with Democrats as the targets, so why is no one from the Left condemning this kind of thing when the Liberal-minded are at fault?

Whether people like it or not, Tea Partiers are part of the fabric of American politics. They're Americans who enjoy the same rights, privileges, and problems as every other American in this country. And believe it or not, there are black people in the Tea Party, too. Shocker!

A great political mind once said, "You must be the change you want to see in the world." If the rhetoric was so awful before Giffords was shot and THAT was the fault for the attack in the first place, why are Democrats trying to go back to that (or continue it since the rhetoric never really stopped)?

Gah, they're using the damn battle flag. That's not the Confederate flag, that was the battle standard used by some of the Army of Northern Virginia's formations. You missed my point entirely.

Dude, my ancestors were Army of Northern Virginia, 10th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. Confederate flags are serious business.

That's not the Navy Jack, it's the battle flag of parts of the Army of Northern Virginia. I prefer the one of the Trans-Mississippi Department armies, well, some of them, for a metafictional approach.

My point is that the US body politic includes hateful and vulgar movements like the KKK and Nation of Islam, we do not see any reason to treat them with respect even though at least the former has been a key driving influence. Why should we be thus obligated to respect extremism as a virtue? It's a vulgar and evil influence even if it is more like what I believe in.

Sigh, once more since you seem to miss the point deliberately: it's not a comparison. It's noting the argument itself is fallacious. The game is repulsive, yes, not only in concept but the graphics are atrocious. Saying that merely being of the American body politic earns the Tea Party respect is not enough on its own, as the KKK and Nation of Islam are also part of it and nobody would respect either.
