Friday off-topic. TikTok anyone?

Do you use TikTok? If so, why? If not, why not? There's been much debate lately about that platform, what with the US authorities outright declaring it a threat to national security. One can't help noticing that TikTok tends to show useful, educational content within China, and is completely different abroad. Well, you know what I'm talking about. Or do you?

Here's a summary of the main downsides of TikTok. Not sure why most of those wouldn't apply to ANY social media, but yeah. Your thoughts?

I was on it for a time, but like a lot of apps, especially ones where you can gain clout and social capital quickly, it became really toxic. Bringing out the worst in people and turning into a mental health-harming time suck. I deactivated my account though, after seeing the deeper monitoring the app does beyond your run of the mill data mining/collection. Eh. I don't miss it. Now I have more time for the horrors of real life not through a screen!
