I'm kind of surprised that we haven't had a post about the Zimmerman trial over the last few weeks, but the jury enters its second day of deliberations today, first full day. We could, theoretically, have a ruling today on the case.
A few links for those who may not have been following closely. I will happily add any other recommended sites for daily analysis of the case if they're posted in the comments.

Date: 14/7/13 09:27 (UTC)I also agree that it isn't murder, but what happened was a foreseeable consequence of following someone around whilst carrying a gun. If he didn't foresee there being conflict, why carry the gun?
I'm not saying Martin is innocent, but Zimmerman clearly contributed to the result.

Date: 14/7/13 13:23 (UTC)That proof never came up. Why? Because Zimmerman actually listened to the police. In fact, did you see the dispatcher's testimony at all? It might be really illuminating as to how he felt about Zimmerman's actions that night prior to the shooting. Remember, too, when you read/watch it, that he was a prosecution witness.
I'm sure you'll get right on that and get the record corrected, right?

Date: 14/7/13 20:25 (UTC)Plus, we have dispatcher testimony - the dispatcher was a state witness. Via the Legal Insurrection Day One recap (http://legalinsurrection.com/2013/06/zimmerman-trial-video-live-day-1-states-first-four-witnesses/), with video:
At no point did dispatch believe he was not following instructions. You're completely incorrect here, but you'll never admit to it as it would require you to actually reply to me.

Date: 14/7/13 20:49 (UTC)I'm not saying that, either. Zimmerman acted on his own in that regard in getting out of his truck, perhaps based on an incorrect interpretation of a cue from the dispatcher. All we're saying is that the idea that Zimmerman was told not to do so initially, or that he defied police instruction, is clearly and unequivocally false.

Actually, that's exactly the case the defense made regarding the false state claim that dwer repeated. The blockquote is direct from the witness testimony.
