Comment from “Jeff” (THIS IS NOT OUR JEFF) posted – and scrubbed the same day -- on Atlas Shrugs, as news of the Anders Breivik attack in Norway unfolded [emphasis added]:

Its Not a bad idea at all. If you have a country that welcomes ISLAMO FASCISTS WHO RAPE AND ABUSE your community and countrymen and govt of libtards
looks the other way…..someone has to take the battle to the enemies
of the people.

No point just sitting and blogging away. Its one way to Put fear back on

Of course Geller does more than blog , but Andersbreivik knew
this won’t work in the land of libtard loonies.

On Friday, July 22, as news of the horror unfolding in Norway hit, I did what I suspect many other people were doing. I googled for any information I could get on the subject. One of the websites pulled up was Pam Geller’s viciously anti-Muslim website, Atlas Shrugs. The post was at the time titled "Jihad in Norway."

The comments were, to put it politely, “interesting.”

Time for Norwegians to start showing what good dihimmis they are! … Maybe increasing immigration from middle-eastern countries might make these 'cultural enrichers' feel more at home in Norway.

We give to these brutes all the comforts of a modern life and this is their 'thanks'. 
islam is an invading army, nothing else.

I believe it is time to start mass deportations of Muslims from the United States of America…

The Norwegian government are a bunch of anti-semitic appeasers of islam! They allow mozlems to rape their young girls, one committed suicide after being raped, they meet with Hamas and the PLO, they support a fakestinian state imposed by the UN. Jews are fleeing from Norway. I listened to the prime minister whining that he is in hiding and that the government are all safe! Well, thank goodness! Let the man in the street die for your nazi ideals!

Pisslims and political correctness are the ideal deadly combination of a weakened 
immune system and an opportunistic pathogen… pisslims are certainly pathogens and PC is stopping us from identifying and killing them. On the other hand, Norwegians got what was due to them. They let their immune system disappear, killed by their consumption of PC. They love pisslims. pisslims love death. Norwegians should start learning to love death, too. Lesson served. Enjoy. Isn’t reality a biatch? Yes, terror came to Norway. But Norway asked for it. Now they should relax and enjoy. Fair is fair.

Muslim immigrants are best described as cockroaches. They invade your home, hide in the shadows and then come out when you let your guard down and steal everything in site with no appreciation whatsoever. These cockroaches need to be dealt with like cockroaches. SMASH them with FORCE.

Lest anyone imagine that there was nobody objecting to these horrible comments, I should point out that someone did respond to the last quote. “I assume you don't mean all muslim immigrants are cockroaches,” one person posted. “And I assume you're not saying we should ‘smash’ all Muslims on the USA etc."

And then there’s the message I’ve quoted at the top of this piece, one that appeared shortly after it became evident that the shooter was no Muslim. I copied it because I was struck by the dearth of responses from Atlas Shrugged commenters. It remained up long enough for some posted comments to follow it, but nobody that I could see said “boo” to this justification of a heinous terrorist attack.

Now, a week later, I find it even more interesting. The comment was posted before news about Breivik’s long online manifesto, with its crusader imagery and references to Islamic rape, was widely known. Even more “interesting” is the reference to Breivik “speak(ing) out against Islamo Fascists” -- well before his attempt to make his hearing a platform for his views was publicized.

Who was this commenter? I have no idea. Obviously not Breivik. It does looks to me as though this person was unusually well-informed about Mr. Breivik and his writings.

So now, Geller is complaining that people are being unfair and mean to her about the fact that Breivik’s manifesto has numerous admiring links to Atlas Shrugs. She’s also been a busy little bee, scrubbing her website of embarrassing moments from as far back as 2007, when she quoted an email from Norway about the horrors of Muslim immigration that included the following passage:

From Israel the hordes clawing at the walls of Jerusalem proclaim cheerfully that next year there will be no more Israel, and I know Israel shrugs this off as do I, and will mount a strike during the summer against all of its enemies in the middle east. This will make the muslims worldwide go into a frenzy, attacking everyone around them.

We are stockpiling and caching weapons, ammunition and equipment. This is going to happen fast.

Geller went back and edited out that embarrassing statement about “stockpiling and caching weapons.” She has since "explained" that she did it because in the wake of the massacre “I found it insensitive and inappropriate.” Given what she’s left up from far more recent comments on her blog, her definition of “insensitive and inappropriate” apparently doesn’t include comparing Muslims to cockroaches and pathogens, comparing liberal Norwegians to Quislings, and saying of the people of Norway as the massacre was taking place, “Yes, terror came to Norway. But Norway asked for it. Now they should relax and enjoy,” any claim of “sensitivity” on Geller’s part is a load of crap.

She also scurried back to remove from her blog a quote from a comment she'd approvingly posted last May from someone who signed her name as “Madeline”:

Once upon a time a woman could walk home at any time of the day or night, and she would be completely safe. But that is a long, long time ago. Now we have gang fights, cars set on fire, threats against Jews and rape. G-d, I pray that our politicians and "elites" meets the same end as Vidkun Quisling did.

Madeline’s comment does remain in the comments section.

I believe it’s unfair to hold a blogger responsible for every single comment on her site. I don’t believe it’s unfair to hold a blogger responsible for the general tenor of the admiring comments on her site. Especially those comments she allows to remain up without argument or demur. Especially those comments she likes enough to quote in her posts.

The comments on Pam Geller’s blog are, in general, vicious, bigoted, and more than borderline violent. She knows this. That’s why she’s been busy editing posts that draw embarrassing attention to them.

Was Geller knowingly in cahoots with Breivik? I doubt it. But he was plainly a fan, and his actions do not come across as an illogical reaction to the hysterical terror and loathing Geller and others like her have evinced – and actively sought to engender -- for all things Muslim. Breivik’s “manifesto” apparently sparked at least one admirer to comment to her blog, an admirer who, at the least, was unusually prescient about Breivik’s writings and plans after capture. No doubt Breivik’s manifesto has found quite a receptive audience among Geller’s fans.

I’m not sure how much longer people online are going to persist in denying the connection between violence in language and violence in action. It’s one thing to occasionally use a violent metaphor in a political discussion. It’s quite another to persistently depict entire ethnic, and/or religious groups as diseases, vermin, things to be eradicated, and their sympathizers as traitors akin to Quisling.

After awhile someone like Breivik is going to act on that description.
