The election of Donald Trump is much scarier than many may imagine. It's not just that an orange pro-fascist pseudo-Mussolini is poised to get back to the helm of the greatest power in the world. No. It's scarier than that. Because all this carries dire consequences for the future.

The scary thing is that Trump has started a trend and now the entire Republican party is radicalized. First internally, meaning its politicians... that is, I meant to call them "politicians" (the quotation marks here are deliberate - apparently there are no politicians left in that party, only sectarians), but it is also being radicalized externally - in the party followers.

It is not about liberals vs conservatives at all any more, it's about normality vs conspiracy theorists, bleach-drinking, HAARP-believing, tinfoil-hat-wearing, poor folks who ironically protect the interests of billionaires who promise to raise their taxes, while selling off the rights of their daughters just for the sake of getting enough representation to allow them to be openly racist asshats.

The level of propaganda has reached such extremes that parents are now writing angry letters to teachers because they would take their children on a field trip to learn about the work of Henry David Thoreau, who was a 19th century writer and philosopher known as a leading figure in the Transcendentalism movement. So it's about a type of knowledge of the world beyond rationalism... let's not go into details here. The idea is that those parents saw a word containing "trans" and freaked out. They wrote angry letters, sent threats, and caused a huge stir. And all that, at a high school from the area known as New England. An area that's supposed to be pretty cutting edge and modern, in case you were wondering.

But even there, the sect has managed to poison their minds.

Stopping federal money for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and leaving it to solely rely on local funding would hit the poorest in Florida, for example, where hurricanes are becoming a daily occurrence. Florida has voted en mase for the Trump sect that was once known as the Republican Party. The same party that denies climate change.
The same climate change that is killing Florida. You probably understand by now how the circle closes.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a leading health care figure is more than a mockery. The man is known for his brain parasites. This is NOT a euphemism. The man who thinks vaccines are a "fraud" and calls them dangerous, will be in charge of Americans' health.

Elon Musk – the collector of government contracts – will be in charge of streamlining the government efficiency...

Trump himself is a convicted felon with a sentence passed. His chief prosecutor will be Matt Gaetz - himself being investigated for illegal trafficking of a 17-year-old girl across the state border. Even if it was "consensual" as the sectarians blare... a 17 year old? That's totally pedo in my book.

This is the future "leadership" of the USA, on which the whole world depends.

Have you heard of Reverend Jim Jones? Have you heard of Jonestown? In 1978 his sect convinced (and in some cases, forced) more than 900 people (many of whom were children) to commit mass suicide. The most famous mass suicide in history. The sect supposedly preached Christianity, but only on paper. Not quite like the fake religion the Republicans try to masquerade as Christianity, but... not all that different if you ask me. In any case, neither of them has really got anything to do with faith or Christianity.

The new administration is already talking about monitoring women's menstrual cycles (through their GPs) to detect when they are pregnant, so they can prevent abortions.

Religious fundamentalism is settling in with terrible force there.

The divide there is wonderfully illustrated by two states - the ONLY two states that voted (in this election) with almost absolute majorities - Oklahoma and Massachusetts. Namely, Oklahoma voted with an almost complete majority for Trump, Massachusetts – for Kamala Harris. And here's the deal: Oklahoma ranks 44th in education in the US (out of a total of 50 states), 49th in health care, 44th in standard of living, 50th in student test scores, in the top 10 of the worst poverty in the country. Massachusetts ranks first in education, second in health care, first in living standards, first in student test scores; and is among the top ten states with the lowest poverty rate.

The low educated vote for the sect of the monkey with the grenade. The others vote for the normal candidate.

Unfortunately, there is no longer a Republican Party in the United States. She was boarded up by the Trumpites and all the normal folks and anything normal have left or were kicked out. Both politicians and followers alike. Now the former party of Lincoln is but a memory.

From now on, this party will only spew sectarian leaders a la Trump, Gaetz, Musk and Kennedy Jr.

You can also thank social media for making Idiocracy a reality, for labeling fascism as "the other point of view" and for the constant spewing of phantasmagorical lies that would have made any person from 20 years ago grab their head and weep.

Even the same sectarians 20 years ago would not buy today's nonsense. But the frog has slowly been cooked. With persistence. Now the cooked frog will believe anything. It believes that climate change is a lie because human activity cannot affect nature; and, at the same time, it believes that the hurricanes in Florida were created by government machines to punish Trump voters.

There is also the issue that this pseudo-Mussolini is particularly convenient for Putin, because he is an absolute crackpot, easy to manipulate, and he is also greedy, so with "promises" they can make him even easier to manipulate.

From now on, every 4 years the world will watch the US elections with bated breath, where there will always be a monkey with a grenade on one side. Hopefully the other side will at least be capable of producing one normal candidate each time. Although... compared to the Republican candidacies, even a boiled potato would look acceptable and “normal”.

Question is, would it be electable? Looking at where the US public is going, I'm not an optimist.
