Romney Says GOP Senators Literally Laughed Out Loud At Trump Behind His Back: ‘Caucus Burst Into Laughter’
"Perhaps Romney’s most surprising discovery upon entering the Senate was that his disgust with Trump was not unique among his Republican colleagues. “Almost without exception,” he told me, “they shared my view of the president.” In public, of course, they played their parts as Trump loyalists, often contorting themselves rhetorically to defend the president’s most indefensible behavior. But in private, they ridiculed his ignorance, rolled their eyes at his antics, and made incisive observations about his warped, toddlerlike psyche. Romney recalled one senior Republican senator frankly admitting, “He has none of the qualities you would want in a president, and all of the qualities you wouldn’t.”"
He has none of the qualities you would want in a President and all of the qualities you wouldn’t.
This is just confirmation of what we already know. The only people who respect Trump are the idiot MAGA base.
It also goes to show how weak and spineless the Republicans are. Very few of them are willing to say what they actually think publicly. And all of them are hoping the charges stick so they can be rid of Trump. It’s incredibly sad. I have lost a lot of respect for them.
Disagreeing on politics is fine but, when you endanger the country by letting an authoritarian toddler take over your party that places you in a different category.
I can’t even imagine the shame Ted Cruz must feel. These are educated people in the Senate. And educated people know how terrible Trump is. It’s like Tucker privately mocking Trump and his Presidency saying:
"I hate him passionately"
The lack of courage is astounding.
