Many on the Right are wired different than many Independents and many on the Left. I think the source of the differences are what sets them apart. What do you think?

When Obama was elected, many on the Right went crazy with unfounded hate. "It's because he's Black." "We're going to be the party of 'No'". "We won't let him pass anything". Gun sales went through the roof, and White Supremacy groups recruitment went through the roof. "He's not legit" No matter what was said.. "He's weak, he's apologizing, The whole 8 years it was pure hate.

Then the Right chose Trump. And all the things that many on the Right accused Obama of, was actually now being done. Shoving world leaders, repeated anti minority and anti women comments. Apologizing and choosing Russia, Korea, and Saudi Arabia over the American government. White Supremacist groups celebrated, marched with tiki torches, as they limit Muslims, Mexicans, and other not stated "shit hole countries" immigrants from coming. Trump and many on the Right actually represented the same pure hate we saw towards Obama, but this time they want to act like the victim.

I think many on the Right lack integrity and the worst part of America's value. Because they don't have a humanity approach. Their purpose seems to more build off of hate and greed, than other values.

This is what Americans need to understand about Trump and his constant (albeit low) approval numbers:

His supporters have resigned themselves to their lives being as they are. They don’t care about the economy booming or busting. They don’t care about new jobs as long as they’ve got one already. They don’t care about the environment because they don’t think it affects them. They don’t care about education because it’s behind them now. They don’t care about immigrants being in cages because they hate immigrants, legal or otherwise. Most have no stocks, so they don’t care about the stock market. They thought 5% unemployment was unacceptable but suddenly pretend they care about 4% as being amazing.

But, besides cutting taxes for the rich, he’s actually accomplished pretty much nothing. He’s fulfilled literally none of his campaign promises. He’s done nothing to call his own. There is no grand accomplishment for “the white working class” and the people who supposedly elected him for jobs and blah blah blah. Nothing has happened that wasn’t in place due to the previous administration.

And yet, no matter what happens, he’s always at around 40%.

Simply put: his supporters like that he’s a dick. And they like how upset everyone in the world is with him.

Their motivation is watching others hurt and be angry. As long as everyone is miserable, they are happy.

That’s why Trumps fans never waiver. He’s a dick and they like that. Their motivation is others’ misery.

This is the reality now.

I think this would make an interesting framework for a sort of counterpoint post, describing how people on the right view Trump versus his detractors.

"We are living in a volatile political environment. You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic -- you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people -- now 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive hateful mean-spirited rhetoric. Now, some of those folks -- they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America."

"But the other basket -- and I know this because I see friends from all over America here -- I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas -- as well as, you know, New York and California -- but that other basket of people are people who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they're just desperate for change. It doesn't really even matter where it comes from. They don't buy everything he says, but he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won't wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they're in a dead-end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well."

. . .

Fail at this, and Democrats will lose the election. Again.

Jonathan Haidt wrote the book The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion that talks about the differences between the right and left. Some part of the book was okay, but the entire Trump administration undermines some of his thesis.

If you think so, why don't you publicly show you are happy with Trump, praise him in public posts and so on -- to frustrate the Trumps' fans ?
