Laurie Mylroie is a Bushite famous for her hard-headed campaign to hold Saddam Hussein accountable for a variety of terror raids during the Clinton administration, especially the first bombing of the World Trade Center. She is the propagandist most responsible for linking al Qaeda to the House of Hussein. She dismisses the notion of an international network of Muslim extremists in favor of a single state agent.

Mylroie portrayed Iraq as a pestilential swamp that needed to be drained. What she failed to anticipate was the opposite. Iraq didn't actually become the swamp of Mylroie's paranoia until after the Bushite invasion and occupation. She could not predict such an outcome because she is herself a carrier of pestilence.

There is a pestilential swamp that needs to be drained, but we wont find it on the Muslim side of the frontier. What do you do personally to inoculate yourself to the pestilence embodied by the likes of Mylroie?

I'm sorry, it's well over a 100 degrees, I have a headache, and am totally unable to come up with a proper non-sequiter.

according to the neocon weekly standard, no one in the bush administration took her seriously.

well it might have been sa slight understatement, but i wouldn't call it hyperbolic.

i'd call -this- hyperbolic...

"Iraq didn't actually become the swamp of Mylroie's paranoia until after the Bushite invasion and occupation."

did the iraqis track terrorists on their census? during the saddam years we had no effective humint presence presence on the ground, so actual before and after terrorist counts are, to put it kindly, problematic.

you've merely proved bush was right. iraq -was- a magnet for terrorists.

and doha is in qatar. the assassination attept was at dora, and the intell came from intercepted communications, not from humint.

it would be hard to call the mujahedin in afghanistan "terrorists" since they weren't targetting civilians but were fighting the soviet military and its puppet afghan government, both legitimate wartime targets. they didn't degenerate into islamist thuggery until the soviets were gone and they started fighting each other.

I'm neither crops nor livestock (http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1O999-pestilential.html), so I doubt I need inoculation. Unless she's also pestilent (http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1O999-pestilent.html), but I'm in Argentina so the distance should help protect me. Unless she gave it to Mark Sanford, in which case I'm probably fucked.

Pestilent is still a better word than pestilential.

More importantly, it would have spoiled the joke. :-p

While the devastation wrought by the US invasion is obvious to all save the modern-day imperialists, that does not make Saddam Al-Majid's Iraq anything like a nice or wonderful place. Saddam was in fact one of the more brutal secular leaders in the region. He was no friend of Al-Qaeda, much less milder movements of the Islamist brand like Dawa, but given the choice between Shithole!Iraq and Saddamland.......I would choose Option C, that is to say, neither.

Miller.

Qusay Al-Majid was one of the most twisted shits the Middle East has ever given the world. And that's the region that gave us the Assyrians and the Church.

Miller comes from the United States, we've been so long out of practice with it that we can't come up with a fraction of the evils the sons of Saddam did. I mean, the thought of either of those two becoming the leaders of Ba'athist Iraq would be the stuff of nightmares.

Pestilential? I'll give you a point for being creative with the English language, but you still lose ten for yet another wacky, pointless post. So -9 it is, then.
