Laurie Mylroie is a Bushite famous for her hard-headed campaign to hold Saddam Hussein accountable for a variety of terror raids during the Clinton administration, especially the first bombing of the World Trade Center. She is the propagandist most responsible for linking al Qaeda to the House of Hussein. She dismisses the notion of an international network of Muslim extremists in favor of a single state agent.
Mylroie portrayed Iraq as a pestilential swamp that needed to be drained. What she failed to anticipate was the opposite. Iraq didn't actually become the swamp of Mylroie's paranoia until after the Bushite invasion and occupation. She could not predict such an outcome because she is herself a carrier of pestilence.
There is a pestilential swamp that needs to be drained, but we wont find it on the Muslim side of the frontier. What do you do personally to inoculate yourself to the pestilence embodied by the likes of Mylroie?

"Iraq didn't actually become the swamp of Mylroie's paranoia until after the Bushite invasion and occupation."
Re: From Clintonite to Bushite
Date: 26/9/09 19:10 (UTC)It's interesting that the most formidable terror fortress in Iraq during the Hussein regime happened to be positioned in Kurdish territory. The CIA operatives sent in to support the Kurds continued to call for a strike on the fortress. The Kurds were ready willing and able to help out in the effort to flush out the terrorists. Tommy Franks' people were unable to step up to the plate.
Unfortunately, the occupants of the fort were set loose during the occupation. Their leader wasn't pinpointed by the Americans until '06. It's as if they were being protected by the Pentagon. That's not hyperbole, that's history.

Date: 28/9/09 23:33 (UTC)As for population density, it's not all that difficult to see the way that terrorists streamed into Iraq after the invasion. They trekked in from all nations of the region and even farther afield. Iraq became a hotbed of terror attacks.
The CIA's HUMINT was also good enough to infiltrate Saddam's security forces at Doha Farm in preparation for an assassination attempt at the start of the war. The inability of the CIA to collect intel in Iraq is greatly exaggerated.
Re: From Clintonite to Bushite
Date: 29/9/09 22:04 (UTC)and doha is in qatar. the assassination attept was at dora, and the intell came from intercepted communications, not from humint.
Re: From Clintonite to Bushite
Date: 29/9/09 23:17 (UTC)According to a CIA officer who ran agents out of Kurdistan, HUMINT was involved. The account is quite detailed and deserves consideration.
(Thanks for being civil about the "Dora" slip. I realized I had made a mistake before I could correct it.)

Date: 30/9/09 23:28 (UTC)If targeting civilians is the only qualifier, then the US military definitely fits the bill of a terrorist organization. They join the CIA, which has been in the business of targeting civilians since its inception.

Date: 27/9/09 01:54 (UTC)Qusay Al-Majid was one of the most twisted shits the Middle East has ever given the world. And that's the region that gave us the Assyrians and the Church.
Miller comes from the United States, we've been so long out of practice with it that we can't come up with a fraction of the evils the sons of Saddam did. I mean, the thought of either of those two becoming the leaders of Ba'athist Iraq would be the stuff of nightmares.
